I’ve been visiting ACCELS giving a talk on „Modeling and Interpreting Variation in Language Use“ introducing an empirical approach for the analysis of linguistic variation based on information-theoretic principles and discussed implications for research within literary studies.
I had such a great audience and fully enjoyed the discussion round! We openly shared insights, limits, challenges, and opportunities of using modeling techniques to analyse and interpret linguistic variation in literary texts taking up a communication perspective.
